From the French Pyrenees to Spanish Catalonia, we'll cross through the Pyrenees via cols and paths in the footsteps of the last Cathars.
This exceptional mountain bike circuit is dotted with plateaux and forests, with thrills for the eyes and calf muscles!
From rolling tracks to very technical mountain trails, come enjoy yourself on a secure course through extraordinary landscapes...
A total change of scenery, along an itinerary of your choice, for an encounter with mountain villages, chateaux and Pyreneen culture.

Program

Day 1: From Foix to Montségur. 32 km. Elevation change: +950 - 600
Depart from the Foix train station to climb to the heights of the Pech with a panoramic view of the countryside. We'll roll along the pleasant trails of the foothills of the Plantaurel.
Descent through forests and climbs up small cols

 

Day 2: From Montségur to Ascou. 33km. Elevation change: +1300m -1200m
In the morning we have a transition stage from Ariège to the pays de Sault where we begin to see the Mediterranean influence. After a superb descent through the forest, we cross the spectacular Frau gorges to reach Comus. We rest our calf muscles on the the plateau de Sault before attacking the climb up to the plateau de Chioula, then descend to the village of Ascou. Overnight in gîte d'étape.

Day 3: From Ascou to Mérens. 25 km. Elevation change: +1000 - 750m
This short stage brings us close to the high mountains of Ariège.
From the Ascou valley we descend to the Orlu valley. By way of the mountain trails, shepherds' paths and forest tracks we head for Mérens where we visit its romanesque church. Overnight in gîte d'étape.

Day 4: From Andorre to Belver de Cerdanya. 40 km. Elevation change: +300m -1500m
In the morning, transfer to Andorra and the mediterranean Pyrenees. After a break in Pas de la Casa, we go to Port d'Envalira (2409m) for a superb mountain descent.
We find a distinct change in ambience. We've arrived in the Pyrenees of the sun. Before us rises the Sierra del Cadi. 18 km descent over meadows, small trails and wide tracks. Overnight in an inn.

Day 5: From Belver de Cerdanya to Gosol. 51 km. Elevation change: +1800m -1400m
A beautiful climb to cross the Sierra del Cadi, and the vegetation becomes more mediterranean, the fragrance changes. Pleasant descent under the pine trees then the mountain landscape softens in the National Park del Cadi. We pass on foot from the Pedraforca, a mineral fortress, to reach the inn of the beautiful village of Gosol whee we will spend the night.

Day 6: From Gosol to Berga. 45 km. Elevation change: +1700m -1900m
The last stage leads us to the sanctuary of Queralt across the mediterranean forest and the superb plateau of Peguera. The rolling trails of the high altitude plateaux and the descent through the woods are the last sensations and a real pleasure for the eyes. Transfer to Foix and disperse.
