As you cycle, the landscapes unfold before you, offering panoramic views of mountain ridges and deep river gorges. Take a leisurely cycle ride through the area along charming little roads, making the most of each break to explore historic sites steeped in emotion.

Departing from Arcachon, set off for a trip following the Atlantic coast along the longest cycle route in France: La Vélodyssée, to Hendaye where the Basque Country awaits you.

Discover the Dune du Pilat, the most beautiful beaches in the Landes region, pine forests, the Basque coast… In the heart of perfectly preserved nature, ride at your own pace along stunning cycle paths, between dunes, beaches and forts. It is equally an opportunity to take in the renowned seaside resorts of the Atlantic coast, to taste local specialties and take a deep breath of sea air ! 

Starting from the famous port of La Rochelle, set off to discover one of the most beautiful sections of the Vélodyssée cycle route. Your journey takes you to Rochefort, the royal city nestled in a bend of the Charente River, before continuing through the renowned oyster farms of Marennes.

Between peaceful cycle paths and fragrant pine forests, you make your way to Royan and then the Médoc, before crossing the Gironde Estuary. The landscapes of the Aquitaine coast then unfold before you, with wild beaches, endless pine woods and charming seaside resorts accompanying every stage of your ride.

Your journey comes to an end on the shores of the Bassin d’Arcachon, an exceptional natural setting where you can take the time to fully enjoy its unique landscapes, relaxed atmosphere and many treasures.

From Bordeaux, listed among the UNESCO's world heritage cities, ride along the Garonne lateral canal, Canal du Midi's outcome to Atlantic Ocean. Quieter, it allows you to ride at your own pace in the Aquitaine countryside, by roundabout ways to charming still active ports where the impetuous river Garonne flows.
With the softness of that landscape, discover the famous Bordelais vineyards, the medieval cities rounded by majestic chateaux. Explore the rich heritage and the local gastronomy linked to cities as Agen or Moissac, to end in beauty to Toulouse, the pink city.

This 6-day cycling trip allows you fully discover the rich heritage of the Périgord Noir. 
The Périgord Noir, a jewel of French heritage, lends itself very well to mountain biking.
Passing between Sarlat, Lascaux, the Eyzies of Tayac, the Châteaus of Beynac, Cazenac and Castelnaud or   Domme and the Roque Gageac, this trip is a true journey through time, stretching from the prehistoric  era all the way to the medieval period ! 
Riding along small lanes and through charming villages, you will discover the hidden jewels of the area, whilst avoiding busy roads to really enjoy each turn of the pedals. 
This circular route starts and ends in the magnificent town of Sarlat, a delightful place for lovers of both history and cycling!
