From the 11th to the 14th century, the “Chemin des Bonshommes” was an important trade route that connected the Catalan regions, Cerdagne, and Berguedà across mountains and passes. At the same time, the trail served as a refuge for the last Cathars fleeing Ariège as they made their way to Catalonia. Today, the nearly 230-kilometer route invites hikers to explore the spectacular natural beauty of the Pyrenees and experience history up close.
